Planning the bags...

Getting close... She just finished her morning pre-swim to acclimate herself to the water (there's a chance she won't be able to wear her wetsuit if the water temperature is too high). Now Adrianna and Cindy (one of her coaches) prepare her various special needs bags for the course. We have lunch in a bit, then she has to drop off all her bags and then it's rest and relaxation until 05:30 CT Saturday.

Practice swim in the AM and new Iron Man wear!

Iron Woman Update

Well, we just rolled into Baytown, TX. It's about 20 miles south of Houston and about 50 miles south of where Adri's Iron Man happens. It's been a long but fun trip. Our first day, Monday, had horrible weather from Richmond all the way to Greenville, SC. It did stop raining about an hour from the camp site in Anderson, SC but driving the camper was no picnic. She did well though (Adri wants to name her so I said we should call her Susan Boyle - not much to look at but gets the job done). Our first night was cold but we had a good dinner in Charlotte because we met my parents at a Cracker Barrel. Good country cooking with a smile :)

Day 2 had us leaving Anderson, SC for Creola, AL. Beautiful weather the whole way but we hit Atlanta rush hour because we decided to stop off at a Tiger Direct warehouse and get a portable DVD player (our old one broke the night before). Needless to say, we bought a new portable DVD player, a serial ATA external hard drive case and a new laptop for Adri - nice up sell by Chris at Tiger Direct. We rolled into the campsite late (around 10:30) and it appeared to be the makings of a horror movie - some old frontage road leading into the delta. Once we got there, it was pretty cool - nice people and sites.

Day 3 (today) - we left Creola headed for Baytown and making good time but the lure of New Orleans was too much so we took 10 into downtown and walked around the French Quarter. Both of us had never been before. We bought Kylie the Little Miss Tarot Card kit and the Liam the Voodoo Doll lab. So soon Kylie will be able to predict your pain and Liam will be able to deliver it. After eating too many Pralines, we headed out of New Orleans (in rush hour traffic again), stopped off for some awesome seafood in some crazy spelled Louisiana town (not sure how they can have a town name with nothing but consonants and another town with 15 letters in the name but only 2 are consonants - weird) and landed safely in Baytown, TX (after our brief stop at the Texas welcome center to pick up our free hand gun and copy of "You, the Border and Freedom"). So the wind is fierce and I need some sleep. Keep checking twitter. Later.

Sleigh Bells

What a visual and auditory assault... check them out. It's like Iron Maiden and every Trance band from the 90's had a child and that child found a computer.
